Starting Thursday, September 30th, we will be offering a new ten-week Alpha Course consisting of dinner, fellowship, a city-wide weekend away and a series of talks looking at topics such as “Who Is Jesus?” and “Why and How Do I Pray?”. The Bowery Mission Women's Center, located on the Upper East Side, offers homeless women a nine month residential recovery and transitional program that includes spiritual grounding, emotional equipping and economic empowerment through which their lives are transformed by the power of Jesus Christ. Female volunteers are needed to help teach an ongoing sewing class at the BMWC Wednesday nights from 6:45PM to 8:45PM. Living Waters is a non-denominational church in Bushwick, Brooklyn. They need volunteers to help with their breakfast outreach on September 11 and September 25. For more information and to volunteer, please email Pastor Ron: ron_mandile@juno.com.
 
Groups needed to lead a worship service at DeWitt Nursing Home on Sunday, October 10. Planning will take place during the month of September. Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities at the Bowery Mission Women's Center
There is a 2nd Sunday meal coordinated by Katie Perillo, and a 4th Sunday meal each month, organized by Katie Aholt. For those of you who haven't volunteered before, during these events we meet at a food store on the Upper East Side at 2:30, shop for groceries for a meal for 20 women at the center, walk to the shelter a few blocks away, cook dinner, and finally serve the women and fellowship with them. The total time commitment is from 2:30PM to 6:30PM and there is no cost or preparation required.  
 
Please see dates below and let Katie P. or Katie A. (depending on the date) know if you are available to help out on any of these dates.  You will receive an email closer to the date with more details once there is a list of confirmed volunteers. 
 
 
Ministry at the Bowery Mission

Sign Up for Your Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Group Today
After the services we will have signups for our upcoming Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Study. There are more than 20 groups to choose from located all over the city and on every day but Saturday. Check out the complete listing in your bulletin and sign up after services in the fellowship hall. You can also contact the host of the group you would like to attend directly via e-mail to register. Have Items You Would Like To Donate To The Rwanda Mission Team?
Trinity has another team traveling to Rwanda on September 12th, and they are collecting supplies and luggage. If you have any luggage (new or used) or supplies (i.e. stickers, balloons, bubbles, balls, crayons, puppets, baseball caps, lollipops, ties, scarves, toiletry items, clothing, school supplies, etc.) you would like to donate, the team will share them with the sponsored kids and other locals with whom the team will work. Please bring donated items to the church by Sept 12th no later than 12:30pm and email Jamie at Rwanda_Missions@TrinityNY.org wiith any questions.
 
 
This Tuesday, Sept 14th, please join fellow Christian men at 7:30pm at Patsy's Pizzeria on 60th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues for food and fellowship. Pizza, salad, and refreshments will be served. The recommended donation is $25; however, this is not a requirement. So if funds are tight, please still join us. Mark your calendars for CHOIR - beginning Wednesday, September 22nd and continuing every Wednesday from 7:00pm to 8:30pm (optional "potluck" snacks and fellowship at 6:30pm) here at Trinity. We'll be preparing our voices and, more importantly, our hearts to lead worship on several Sundays and in our annual Christmas Concert December 11th-12th. ALL ARE WELCOME - only a heart for worship and commitment to rehearsals are required.

Children’s Ministry  Volunteer Opportunities
We're gearing up for fall! If you have a heart for children and a desire to share God's Word with them, come join one of our teaching teams. There's flexibility in each schedule to accommodate travel needs and each class is taught in teams with other leaders, so experience, while wonderful, isn't an absolute must. Little Blessings Nursery/Toddler volunteers needed for the September - December 2010 rotation. If you would love a chance to nurture and play with our babies and toddlers while parents attend service, contact Cindy@TrinityNY.org or 212-838-6844. Each volunteer serves two to four times in the rotation which allows flexibility for other commitments.

Trinity's next baby blessing is scheduled for Sunday, October 10th. If you would like to take part in this wonderful event and have your child blessed, please contact Cindy at (212) 838-6844 *821 or Cindy@TrinityNY.org. Parents will also need to be available to meet with the officiating pastor on Sunday, October 3rd at 12:45 pm for a brief informational meeting. It will be held in the Nursery Room and should last about 30 minutes.
 
Kitchen Closed
Please note that the kitchen will be closed until September for renovation. If you have any special needs regarding use of the kitchen and its supplies, please contact the office for help.  There will still be coffee and beverages available after each service.  
 
Wednesday Women's Bible Study 
We will resume on Wednesday, Sept. 15th from 9:45am-noon for women of all ages in the upstairs classrooms. Childcare is available for a small fee. Join us for a light breakfast, coffee, and Bible study in small groups, great fellowship and prayer. Come start the year with us! Our first study will be Emotionally Healthy Spirituality. How About a Hope Revolution?
On Saturday, Oct. 2nd, walkers will be gathering in Brooklyn, NY at Dyker Beach Golf Course for the "Second Annual Hope Revolution Walkathon To Benefit Love146" (A ministry that addresses sex trafficking). The 10-mile trek through Brooklyn's shoreline and historical streets will end with a celebration/presentation. All funds will be used for the prevention and aftercare programs to help children at risk and restore those who have been rescued. Women Of Faith Conference / Trinity Retreat
On November 18th-20th in Hartford, CT we are joining an amazing conference with our Women's Retreat for this year! 20's Women Bible Study
Join us as women ages 20 - 30(ish) meet for dinner, fellowship and discussion as we explore "Love and Respect" on Tuesdays at 7pm. As this is a summer study, there is no homework or reading, just an opportunity to come to view the DVD and work through the landmines in male/female relationships in order to enjoy real harmony with the men in your life (be they father, boss, boyfriend or husband).  For more information, contact Susannah Atkins at women@trinityny.org.
