Bright Beginnings, Trinity's Preschool Ministry Program, is a place where children begin to learn about God, Jesus and the Bible -- and how each relates to family, self and others.

For many children, this may be their very first encounter in a structured classroom setting.  To help meet the challenge of keeping these energetic little ones involved in Bible learning, our teams of volunteer teachers use hands-on activities from Gospel Light curriculum to engage the children in the lesson.  Making simple crafts, listening to lively worship songs, and still leaving plenty of time to just play and interact with their pals, is part of our Bright Beginnings plan, too!

The children are divided according to age into two classes -- Early Years (turning 3 in early winter) and Pre-K/K's (turning four by October).  Classes for each age group are held during both the 9:30 and 11:15 services.  Although lessons taught in either class time can stand alone, the second service lesson is designed to correlate with what is taught during first service.  This means that children who attend both class times will learn only one key Bible story and verse each week.  The activities presented in each class time, however, will differ.
  • A snack of fruit juice and golfish or animal crackers is provided during all class times.
  • A music program is included in the classtime during the 9:30 service.
  • To ensure safety, children should be signed into the classroom by a parent or guardian.  A numbered tag that matches the number entered next to their child's name is given to the parent and the tag should be presented at pick-up time.
  • Parents are always welcome to visit our rooms and stay with children who may need extra time to settle in.
  • For security reasons, during pick-up time, please wait at the door and a teacher or helper will bring your child to you.
  • In all classrooms, teaching partnerships comprised of three or four volunteers are formed. Because we value consistency in the classroom, yet understand the need for flexibility in scheduling volunteers, the teachers work on a rotational basis throughout the year with two in place each Sunday and the third teacher off.
